Košice Dent

Privacy policy

Who processes your personal data, for what purposes, for how long, who we pass it to and what rights you have.

I. Data controller

The controller is DentaTec s.r.o., company ID 52186466, registered office Stará baštová 3, 040 01 Košice - mestská časť Staré Mesto, premises at Stará baštová 3, 040 01 Košice. Contact on data protection matters: [email protected], +421 940 644 650.

II. Purposes of processing

We process data to provide dental care and keep medical records, to arrange and remind you of appointments, to answer questions sent through the form, by phone or by e-mail, to issue and record payments, and — if you give us consent — to measure website traffic and the effectiveness of advertising.

III. Legal basis for processing

For healthcare the basis is the provision of health care under Article 9(2)(h) GDPR together with the statutory duty to keep records. For bookings and enquiries it is performance of a contract and steps taken at your request before entering into one (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For accounting documents it is a legal obligation (point (c)). For measurement and advertising cookies it is solely your consent (point (a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

IV. Recipients of personal data

We do not pass data to anyone who does not need it in order to do something for us. Those are the website hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc.), the provider that sends forms from this site (Web3Forms), the provider of the mailbox your message arrives in (Google Ireland Limited — [email protected] is a Gmail account), and — if you consent to measurement and advertising — Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. We pass data to the National Health Information Centre and to supervisory bodies to the extent the law requires. Some of these companies also process data in the USA under the European Commission's adequacy decision (the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

V. How long data is kept

We keep medical records for the period that Slovak Act No. 576/2004 Coll. lays down for each kind of record; we are not permitted to keep them for less. Accounting documents we keep for 10 years.

Messages sent through the form, by phone or by e-mail are kept in the clinic's mailbox for as long as they are needed to deal with your question and for any follow-up care, at most 24 months from the last communication; after that we delete them. Cookie consent is valid for 12 months, after which we ask again.

VI. Rights of data subjects

You have the right:

  • to access your data and obtain a copy of it
  • to have inaccurate data corrected
  • to erasure
  • to restrict processing
  • to data portability where processing is based on consent or a contract
  • withdraw your consent at any time

Just write to [email protected]; we will reply within one month. You may lodge a complaint with the Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (the Slovak Data Protection Authority), Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava.

VII. Right to object

You may object at any time to processing we base on legitimate interests — principally keeping the website running. Following an objection we will stop such processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests and rights.

VIII. Mandatory processing

Some data we process because the law requires it — medical records, statutory reports and accounting documents. This processing is not based on consent, cannot be withdrawn, and without this data we cannot treat you.

IX. Cookies and traffic measurement

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. We may use essential cookies without consent; for everything else, under § 109(8) of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on electronic communications, we need your prior consent. Without consent, the site only counts visits and clicks anonymously on its own server — no cookie, no identifier and nothing passed to third parties. No advertising script runs before you consent, and the only third-party content that loads earlier is the map on the Contact page (see below).

Cookies help, for example, to remember your settings or to analyse site traffic. We use them in three categories:

Anonymous visit counting (without consent)
So that we know how many people read which page, for how long and where they leave the site, and can improve it accordingly, the site counts visits even without your consent. Our server receives only the page address, how long it was on screen, the name of a click (for example on the phone number), where you came from (for example a search engine) and whether you are reading on a phone or a computer; Cloudflare adds the country and city based on the connection. Everything is added straight into daily totals — no cookie, no identifier, nothing to third parties. So that one visit is not counted more than once, the browser keeps these three entries until the window or tab is closed (sessionStorage, not cookies):
NamePurposeValidityProvider
kosicedent_visit Tells the first page of a visit from the rest, so the visit is counted once until the window or tab is closed kosicedent.sk
kosicedent_visit_n Counts the pages opened during the visit, so we know how many people left straight from the first until the window or tab is closed kosicedent.sk
kosicedent_visit_at Remembers the previous page of the visit, so we know from which page people leave the site until the window or tab is closed kosicedent.sk
Essential cookies
Keep the site working — they remember your answer to the cookie banner. Without them we would ask you again every time the page loads.
NamePurposeValidityProvider
kd_consent Stores your cookie choice 12 months kosicedent.sk
Analytics cookies
They show us where people come to us from — a search engine, an ad or a link. We store only the name of the page you came from and a campaign tag, never the full address. We use no third-party traffic-measurement tool.
NamePurposeValidityProvider
kosicedent_source Remembers where you first came to us from 90 days kosicedent.sk
Marketing cookies
They measure whether an ad on Facebook and Instagram brought you to us. Only in this category does data also reach Meta, which processes it for its own purposes as well. We never send it your name, phone number or e-mail.
NamePurposeValidityProvider
_fbp Attributes the visit and enquiry to a click on an ad on Facebook and Instagram 90 days Meta
_fbc Remembers that you came from an ad on Facebook or Instagram 90 days Meta

Third-party content on this site

The Contact page has a Google Maps map embedded in it, and it loads as soon as that page opens — that is, before you answer the cookie question. In doing so, Google sees your IP address and details about your browser. On no other page of this site does anything from a third party load before you consent.

Who else your data reaches, and why, is set out in section IV above.

How can you manage cookies?

You can:

  • change or withdraw your answer using the “Cookie settings” button in the site footer
  • delete them in your browser
  • block them in your settings
  • set a notification when they are stored

Please note that some features of the site may not work properly without cookies.

Binding wording

The Slovak wording of this page is binding; translations into other languages are for information only and in the event of a discrepancy the Slovak text prevails.
